CIA sets up $100m cell to monitor hardliners
WASHINGTON – The CIA has established a unit with a $100 million budget to monitor articles, web sites and religious circulars of hardliners, says a Time magazine report.
All announcements, web sites, researches, religious articles and telephones of hardliners will be monitored and subsequent follow-up action taken, the magazine said. A budget of $100 million has been placed at the disposal of the new unit, which will be headed by John Negroponte, Director of National Intelligence.
