As the World turns

When the US military rolled across Iraq and occupied the country in a matter of days, it set off alarm bells across the globe, Suddenly Nations were questioning their own security. Countries started to re-evaluate their ties. We are starting to see the end results. Alliances are shifting.
The US has strategically expanded its reach across the globe. It has developed closer ties with a growing list of countries. Russia is scrambling to reinvent its neglected military, cozing up to India and China. Iran is striving to become a regional player. Iran's strategy involves a crash course in nuclear and missile development. And to create enough influence in Southern Iraq to make it a proxy state much like Syria and Lebanon.
China is trying to acquire military knowhow by any means possible. Trying to leap generations in technology. At the same time trying to form ties to Iran, Russia, India, South America and oddly enough Cuba. I suspect Cuba will be China's response to the US support for Taiwan. Tit for Tat. If the US deploys high tech weapons in Taiwan, guess what China will try to do? China takes the long view when forming alliances. And they have the US firmly in their sights!
As far as Europe goes, They will eventually form a cohesive block with a E.U. military force. But with a dramatically declining native population and a growing Islamic influence I think they are in trouble.
I suspect the world will look dramatically different within 20 years. No longer will you have many small countries, but several large Federations. Call it consolidation if you will. The Game is afoot!
